Cybersstalking occurs most commonly when a person used the internet or other digital means to harass another person. A person is not necessarily a single individual but can include a group of people, organization, family, or other similar entities. Common example include using a computer to post harassing comments, facts, lies, accusation or other demeaning comments about a person. Threats, solicitation of sex, professing ones love for another repeatedly in an unwanted situation, or trying to gain their affection when the harassed party has informed them they don't want their affection. Other examples include following a person through the use of digital media, impersonating the person, or posting adds on personal sites using their name, number, likeness, or similar facts. Stalkers may be known to the victim, or even a casual acquaintance who has developed an attraction or desire to control a person or place them in fear. Threats may also include loved ones or member of the target victims family.
