Not all DUI attorneys are Equal. Most Criminal Defense attorneys handle DUI's. Not all Criminal Defense attorneys have the DUI specific education to properly defend DUI's. There are many questions you should ask before hiring an attorney to help you with your DUI.
Have you been trained to conduct Field Sobriety Tests?
Have you completed a NHTSA certified course to be a SFST instructor?
Are you a member of the California DUI Lawyers association?
Do you regularly attend DUI Defense Seminars? If so, which ones have you attended?
Are you a member of the National College for DUI Defense?
Do you have specific training and/or education as to Forensic Toxicology?
Have you been trained in a laboratory on the proper methods and procedures for Gas Chromatography?
Jonathan Rooker can answer YES to each of these questions. If you are going to hire a DUI attorney hire one that can answer YES to each of these questions. DUI's are some of the most technical, science based, and difficult cases to handle. They are common, but not simple. While interning during law school, and experienced attorney who routinely handles serious felonies told me, "If you can do a DUI right, you can do a homicide." Those words have proved true. If you are looking for a DUI attorney, understand DUI's are not simple, they are complicated, make sure you have an attorney with specialized training, education, and experience.

This seminar is a can't miss for anyone defending those accused of impaired driving and/or boating. This event is co-sponsored by the National College for DUI Defense and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Founded in 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia by William C. “Bubba” Head this event remains the premier seminar on scientific evidence in DUI and DWI cases. T
his year's seminar includes the premier scientific alcohol researcher as well as the most commonly cited expert by prosecutors nationwide, Dr. A.W. Jones. This seminar will feature not only scientific education, but application of this knowledge through demonstrated trial skills. These strategies will provide the attendee the opportunity to expose reasonable doubt and return not guilty verdicts. The culmination of this program, as in years' past, is the mock jury trial where the details of the presentations are demonstrated in a real jury trial. The defense attorneys will be an NCDD Regent and an NCDD Faculty Member. The blood test will be a real blood test case that was tried in front of a real jury. As is common, the jurors will be told that this is a real case, and that their verdict will decide the Defendant's fate. This year's case will involve a blood test case as this is becoming increasingly common throughout the United States in large part due to “no refusal” weekends. Early Registration is underway.
