MCLE DUI Presentation for the Fresno County Public Defender's Office
Defending people accused of DUI or Drunk Driving as it is known has been a passion of mine from the first day I stood in a Law School Classroom and proudly announced that when I finished law school, my goal was to be the best DUI Attorney ever. Receiving recognition along the way has been very rewarding. I remember when I was awaiting bar exam results and had successful Fresno Lawyer call and ask me about DUI Defense.
On March 20, 2015 I stood before a group of attorneys at the Fresno County Public Defender's Office, an office I proudly worked at, people I worked with, sought advice from, and truly admire, and gave a presentation on defending DUI's. Many people fail to give the credit to public defenders that they deserve. They are vastly experienced, work with the judges, Deputy District Attorneys, and court staff on a daily basis. The case load is horrible, but the fighter's heart is in every one of them. Time and case load are their only limitations.
However, these same attorneys took the time out of their schedule, their heavy case load, to listen to my presentation and training so they could better help their clients in trial. I was honored to help. My respect runs so deep for the public defenders that I have a standing offer to their office on any DUI case any and every attorney is welcome to come meet me after closing time to help review the case and trial strategy.
On this day I went over the basics of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, adsorption, distribution, metabolization, and elimination of alcohol in the human body. The group was eager to learn, asked questions, and contributed their input as to what they have seen and experienced.
