Fresno Defense Attorney talks about crime, Pokemon, and being cautious while having fun.
Pokemon Go has taken over the nation. The good side is that teens, children, and adults are getting out of the house and moving around. Hoards of people gather at Pokemon Go locations to try and catch a Pikachu, Diglit, Meowth, or Charmander. It seems like innocent fun and games, but there are other aspects of Pokemon that haven't been as widely circulated.
Pokemon and Crime! It was reported that Pokemon was the bait to lure unsuspecting victims into the criminals web. This link shows that http://https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jul/10/pokemon-go-armed-robbers-dead-bodyPokemon Crime is real. Teens were lured to a remote location and robber, the suspects were later arrested for Robbery and other related charges.
According to Rolling Stones Magazine there have been several other Pokemon related crimes that turned out to be false, such as a child murdering his brother to steal his Pokemon collection. Driving While Impaired (DWI) by Pokemon has been a real problem. People driving very slow, turning abruptly, and stopping aggressively to reach and collect a Pokemon can all cause accidents and can be very dangerous.
The most important thing to remember is that this is a game, and is meant for you to have fun. Don't risk your life or well being to capture an imaginary Pokemon. If the Pokemon stop is in a dark alley, remote location, or unsafe area, use common sense and avoid the risk. It is always best to let people know where your are, check in regularly, and hunt the Pokemon with friends.
