Fresno Area DUI News: Driving Under the Influence can be dangerous enough, but with the added risk involved with competing in a Street Race, the cumulative risks added up to a fatal DUI Accident. Fresno DUI Defense Lawyer Jonathan Rooker actively blogs about DUI news and current events. This incident is noteworthy because the two risk factors of street racing and driving while impaired (DWI) on the valley roads are not often associated with each other. What is associated is what some officers refer to as "Superman drunks" who make the decision to drive around after consuming alcohol, and show mental impairment in their decision making abilities, such as driving extraordinarily fast, running stop signs, stop lights, or from the police when they are intoxicated. It is exactly this state of mind, or impairment that one officers described as the biggest danger to other motorists.
The Fresno Bee published an article telling us of the results of driving while intoxicated and street racing.
