FRESNO DUI ATTORNEY Jonathan Rooker was qualified as and allowed to testify as an EXPERT witness at the DMV Drivers Safety Office on August 12, 2014. DUI Attorney Jonathan Rooker has spent an extensive amount of time and money driving and flying to seminars and training around the nation. He continues to pursue education that will provide assistance to his clients, his DUI clients in particular.
Part of that education includes pursuing a Masters Degree in Forensic Toxicology. Jonathan is approximately half way to achieving that goal. He has also completed numerous other educational goals. As part of his Criminology Degree Jonathan took a courses which included Criminal Forensics and Biology while earning his Bachelors Degree in Criminology with a law enforcement option. Jonathan has also completed Basic Reserve Police Academy Level III. A diversified education includes a Masters Degree in Ed. Counseling that included components of substance abuse and the psychology of student behavior along with the laws governing how the students should be dealt with and a counseled.
Jonathan completed law school in the minimum course completion time of Three years, graduating in 2009. Seeking a more specific education regarding science and DUI's Jonathan completed the NHTSA Student course and later the Instructor Course on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Continuing to be intrigued with the in depth science behind breath and blood testing methods to ascertain Blood Alcohol Content, Jonathan then continued his DUI focused scientific education by attending Axion Laboratories Forensic Chromatography course in Chicago. This intense, laboratory setting, and educational course opened even more avenues for education. Science is truly infinite, and each measure of learning comes with new questions. This has caused Jonathan to continue toward both a Masters in Forensic Toxicology and planning return to Axion Laboratories for Mass Spectrometery-Sollid Drug Analysis in November. This will a be a Second step of four, toward the highest Scientific Honor offered by the American Chemical Society to an Attorney-, The Lawyer-Scientist Designation. At the time of this blog, there is only a handful of lawyers with such a designation nation wide.
EXPERT STATUS!
Today, Jonathan was qualified as an expert witness by the DMV in Fresno California. He was allowed to testify, not as a lawyer, but based on his in depth scientific education on Forensic Toxicology. This is an important milestone, but far from the end of Jonathan quest for educational excellence in the profession. In order to know what questions to ask an expert in trial, at the DMV, or when evaluating a case, one must know what to look for, and what to ask. Jonathan has a unique understand of these key points.
