Fresno Police Arrested several people on charges of human trafficking along with and conspiracy to commit murder

Fresno police have long targeted gangs as one of the main problems in valley.  The Chief has used a variety of new and novel tactics to help curb gang violence and related crimes.  There have been injunctions, gang sweeps, and now targeting a major source of financial gain for the gang members, sex trafficking.  During the course of the investigation there were wire taps, which led to other charges including conspiracy to commit murder.

The financial reward of the crimes seem to be obvious, as fancy cars, cash money, and other valuables were allegedly purchased with the money from the illegal sources.  Police believe they may have stopped some violence before it occurred, as they indicate wire taps indicate violence was likely to occur if they did not act.   Whether it is sexual assault, kidnapping, or forcing people into prostitution, only time will tell.
