As a criminal defense and DUI Attorney who represents accused individuals in the Selma, ca area, I make a point to keep current on the crime related news in my area.  Selma has had several high profile arrests  or criminal events in the last few years.  They range from Fatal DUI Accidents, Domestic violence turn murder, to Child pornography and molestation charges.

The Selma Police Department has announced crime related news via their facebook post.  On May 28, 2015 a man was arrested on various domestic violence, terrorist threat, and weapons related charges.  He is 30 years old, and a picture was posted as well.

Selma has had a recent incidents with Domestic violence that became multiple incidents of homicide.  A few years ago a man allegedly murdered his family and committed suicide.  That individual killed his wife and two children, also gravely injuring a third.  His name was Avtar Singh and he was a Major in the Indian military and accused of murder in India before moving to the Untied States.  There was a prior accusation of Domestic Violence in the families past, as the now deceased wife had accused Mr. Singh of choking her about a year prior.

A separate domestic violence related murder suicide occurred in early 2015 when a man killed his long term girlfriend and her cousin following a dispute.  The victims were cousins.  The gunman turned the gun on himself, fatally shooting himself.

Selma DUI Defense Attorney: In Selma news an officer was honored as a hero for his work on DUI arrests.  Officers are often honored for doing their job.  As a Defense attorney I have seen people falsely accused.  Their lives torn apart, families destroyed, careers ended due to false allegations, yet the community doesn't seem to have the same affection for DUI Defense Attorney's or Criminal Defense Attorneys that help people through hard times and vindicate them against false accusations.  But, while the community may not understand, the reward I receive from knowing I helped an individual person or family when the power of the government was against them is reward enough.  Several past clients rank among my friends, many times friends have become clients, which is difficult for all involved. However, the mob-mentality of the general public believing that an arrest means guilty can be defended against, one case, one person, at a time.
